Jesse Strait, AUCTIONEER-RINGMAN

Born and raised in rural Colorado, Jesse was brought up surrounded by the agricultural lifestyle. He was always active within the community participating in 4-H, youth group, school sports, junior rodeos, and competitive shooting sports. Often holding a leadership position within these activities, Jesse learned young that leadership and giving back was of great importance to him, which led him to pursue a life of service starting as a volunteer firefighter when he was 16 years old.

​Eventually, his dedication to serve brought him to enlist into the United States Marine Corps where he served 8 years on active duty, holding several leadership and instructor billets, and during which time he became a father to his first daughter. Since his departure from active duty, Jesse has searched for ways to fulfill his desire to serve, and thanks to the advice and mentorship of his neighbor, he found the path of auctioneering which seemed to fulfill both his desire to be an entrepreneur as well as a way for him to serve others.​

Jesse attended the Western College of Auctioneering where he grew increasingly passionate about the auction industry. In learning the ins and outs of the industry, he learned that there’s much more to auctioneering than just the “chant”. He gives a lot of credit to his instructors for being so motivational and encouraging, and the mentors he’s acquired since graduating for giving him the support to pursue his new dream.​ He started Strait Auctions LLC with the hopes of building a family owned business while helping others by using the auction method of marketing, be it by selling personal property for estate sales, or fundraising for community programs or non-profits.
